Living the Good News, or Colorado Curriculum

A Christian education curriculum based on the common lectionary. It was begun in the Diocese of Colorado in 1976 as a six-week program. It is sometimes referred to as the "Colorado Curriculum." Living the Good News emphasizes the heritage of the Episcopal Church, the sacraments, and the Prayer Book. The curriculum also emphasizes the liturgical seasons of the year. It is based on scripture, tradition, and reason. A goal of Living the Good News is discovering God in the liturgy and symbols of the church as well as in the people of God. The lessons are developed at six levels plus an inter-age edition, giving the opportunity for intergenerational events. The program also publishes Celebrate the Good News, which is designed for Children's Chapel.
