ERD's Ubuntu Africa pilgrimage partipants share their reflections

7/22/2004
[Episcopal News Service]  In Namibia, a country being devastated by HIV/AIDS, participants on Episcopal Relief and Development's Ubuntu Africa Pilgrimage are learning about ERD's work fighting HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. Five women and one ERD staff member are on a 12-day pilgrimage visiting ERD supported programs in Namibia and South Africa. The group left the United States on July 17.

Participants wrote about their experience with children in the community of Etale, in northern Namibia. "We were greeted by a group of over 60 orphans and others known as 'vulnerable children' who have had their lives changed in incalculable ways by the HIV/AIDS pandemic," said the group.
