LEWISBURG, PA: The Diocese of Central Pennsylvania to meet in convention – The Diocese of Central Pennsylvania will meet in convention July 21-22 at Bucknell University.

The Rt. Rev. Robert Ihloff, Bishop of the Diocese of Maryland and President of Province III, will be the convention chaplain and preacher. Host parishes this year are Mt. Calvary, Camp Hill and St. Andrew's, Harrisburg. The convention theme is: "Yes, We'll Gather at the River."

Coming July 22, 2006...

SAN FRANCISO: Bishop Andrus investiture set for July 22 -- The Rt. Rev. Marc Handley Andrus will be installed as the eighth bishop of the Diocese of California on July 22 at Grace Cathedral. Andrus will succeed the Rt. Rev. William Swing who will retire this year.

LOS ANGELES: Convention debriefing — St. James' Church on Wilshire Blvd will host a forum sponsored by the Commission on Gay and Lesbian Ministries where participants will share their experiences and impressions of General Convention. From 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., there will be opportunities to respond, contribute, and ask questions. All are invited.

AMHERST, Massachusetts: 2006 Global Mission Event set for July 27-30 – Under the theme "Sent by God's grace for the sake of the world" the 2006 Global Mission event will take place July 27-30 at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts. Co-sponsored by the Episcopal Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America with endorsement from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, this event invites congregations, families, youth and seniors to discover a global community of God's grace.

HOUSTON, Texas: Christ Church Cathedral to be honored - Christ Church Cathedral will be honored on July 28 at the Downtown Houston Alliance benefit gala, for its contribution to the life of downtown Houston and especially for the John S. Dunn Outreach Center.  Other honorees include the Houston Rockets/Comets and METRORail.

The Downtown Houston Alliance was founded by Pittman McGehee, former dean of the cathedral.

NEW YORK CITY: Seminary offers course on stewardship – Two seasoned professionals, Terry Parsons and the Rev. Michael E. Carlisle, will share the truth about theology, theory, and stewardship practices that grow healthy congregations and fund God's work while teaching "Tithing can be fun: Stewardship and Congregational Vitality" ay General Theological Seminary July 31-August 2.  Parsons is stewardship officer of the national church and Carlisle recently retired as rector of St. Peter's in Paris, Kentucky, where he more than tripled stewardship in less than a decade.

RICHMOND, Virginia: UBE set to hold 38th annual meeting and conference – The Union of Black Episcopalians will hold its 38th annual meeting themed "Practicing Our Faith: Strengthening our Relationships with God and Each Other," July 31 – August 4 at the Omni Hotel in Richmond, Virginia.

The conference will feature the "Lift Every Voice and Sing Music-Fest" and will honor the presence of young people with "Youth Explosion II."
