Episcopal Church grants available for new campus ministries

Proposal deadline is March 31

[Office of Communication] The Episcopal Church's Office for Young Adult and Campus Ministries is accepting proposals from dioceses, parishes or college/university campuses for grants to assist in the start-up of new campus ministries or the re-start of dormant campus ministries.

A total of $300,000 is available through 2012 to focus on campus ministries in higher education institutions. The deadline for submitting grant proposals is Wednesday, March 31. Beginning July 2010, grants will be awarded over a two-year period.

"It is expected that the local diocese, parish, or campus ministry will match the amount awarded in the grant," said the Rev. Douglas Fenton, the Episcopal Church's young adult and campus ministries officer, adding that in-kind services, such as the fair market value of space to be used for the campus ministry, equipment, office supplies, etc., may be used in calculating the matching funds.

Guidelines on how to submit a proposal are available here.
