Mission Center: Mission Leadership

Province I - Tyler Will

Because my father was in the navy, I grew up all over the country and I went to high school in a suburb of Tokyo, Japan.  While I lived there I took vacations all over the Far East. When in high school, I discovered how much I liked writing news, and chose to major in journalism at the University of Rhode Island, where I could benefit from in-state tuition. I finished a minor in English, and have pending minors in Latin and economics. I have worked at the university newspaper, the Good 5-cent Cigar, and two weekly newspapers in Newport and Jamestown, RI.  I plan on attending law school after graduating from URI to become a public defender.  I believe the hectic schedule and interviewing skills of news writing will help me in law school and when I become a lawyer.  However, I believe seminary is in my long-term future.
